When our office received the Toshiba Portege R835-P56x for testing our resident gamer was placing a bib under his drooling mouth. This Notebook is packed with all things awesome and the fact that you can enjoy all that happy fun time for 8 hours on a single charge just makes all of us giddy. If you plan on creating anything graphically demanding or anything that would otherwise strain most PC’s than you will enjoy the power of the R835-P56x. While having half of its capable 8GB’s of RAM it still didn’t bat an eye till we got hot and heaven with the music creating software. The video card was top notch and we had a blast hooking this up to the 55″ LED and watching the latest flick. Before we went to CES this year we had debated about Google getting mainstream with their Linux based Chrome OS. Some people i the office thought it would go the way of the Laser Disc. After we got a hands-on we were very pleased with the operating system. Imagine a 10 second boot up with nice and almost instant web browsing, Oh and the fact you can get internet all over the country with the 3G version. If you travel for work……come on you need this. If you ride the train to work…..come on you need this. It is wonderful and light weight and surprised a lot of us to the fact of us looking to buy just before a month long travel. The HP ProBook 4530s XU015UT is a great all around laptop that we used and abused. We often just want a computer to do its task with out any complaints much like a hard to find employee. With the HP Probook you get an all-star manager for a mailroom clerk salary. We really like the Intel i3 and i5 processors and applaud HP for packing it in the Probook. With so many choices out there its hard to make up your mind on the best Notebook/Laptop for you but if all the beautiful specs don’t persuade you than maybe the low price will. The 15.6″ screen is perfect for me, not to big as to make the whole thing cumbersome yet large enough to enjoy a good movie now and again. Like HP or not but they have a prize fighter here.

Our final thoughts on the Apple Macbook Pro is a s follows. With Intel and ASUS building components for Apple they have built a great track record for reliability and longevity. What brings more and more customers to Apple is the operating system Snow Leopard and its ease of operation. For persons making the switch to Apple may have a learning curve but can easily be remedied by attending one of their seminars. The Apple MacBook Pro MC700LL/A is a lighting fast laptop that can do just about everything a notebook would be entitled too. We here are PC based so we gave the Macbook Pro to our local Machead who only after threats upon the welfare of his cubical finally gave it back. Reviewing the Acer AS5253-BZ602 we found that although it specs aren’t as impressive as some Laptops we tested this fits a great niche between a Netbooks and Notebooks. It is a full sized laptop which can do multiple tasks and thanks to its HDMI out it can display on any flat panel TV which comes in great if you want to stream Hulu, Netflix, etc, etc, etc, etc. This makes a great Laptop for a student who can use this for work and play. The price is quite competitive with even some smaller netbooks. Overall we like the dual-core processor and the quick DDR3 RAM, The fact that they pre-installed 64-bit Windows Premium is a nice touch especially if you upgrade the RAM later on. For the price you can’t beat this Laptop if you just need a laptop for normal tasks and maybe some gaming.
